The terms
How the deal works.
- •As long as you are a Frank Energie customer, you never pay more than a 10% service fee at Joulo.
- •Already below 10% via referrals? You keep that rate.
- •Charging sessions from 1 January 2026 count, provided your charging station has a MID meter. Sign-up for 2026 is open until 25 February 2027.
- •You see your earnings in your Joulo dashboard and soon in the Frank Energie app as well.
- •If you leave Frank, your regular Joulo rate simply applies again.
- •Cancel yearly • quarterly payout to your own bank account.

Questions from Frank Energie customers
What are ERE's?
ERE stands for Emission Reduction Units. The government requires fuel suppliers to offset emissions. Every kWh you charge at home via a MID meter generates ERE's, regardless of your energy contract • we sell them and pay you the proceeds.
Does my charger work?
Your charger must be MID-certified. Not sure? Use the free charger check on joulo.nl.
How much can I earn?
At a 10% service fee you receive 13.5 cents net per kWh, averaged over our ERE sales. At 4,100 kWh of home charging per year that is roughly €554. The price follows the ERE market; every sale is in our open sales log.
What does it cost?
Nothing to sign up. 10% service fee. You only pay a service fee on ERE's actually traded.
How do I activate the Frank rate?
Sign up via this page and select Frank Energie as your energy supplier during registration. The partner rate then applies automatically. Already a Joulo customer? Set Frank Energie as your supplier in your profile and your rate switches by itself.
Will I see my ERE earnings in the Frank app?
Soon. Frank is building an overview of your ERE earnings in the Frank Energie app, next to smart charging and grid congestion steering. Until then you see everything in your Joulo dashboard and the Joulo app.
I drive a lease car. Do I get the ERE earnings?
Yes. The ERE compensation goes to the person named on the connection at the charging address • you as the resident, not the lease company.
I already signed up with another registration provider for 2026.
Only one registration provider may register per connection per year. You can sign up for 2027 now: cancel your current provider before the end of the year and we register your sessions from 1 January 2027. Check your current provider's notice period: some want your cancellation by 30 November.
What happens if I leave Frank?
The Frank partner rate expires and your regular Joulo rate applies again (20% standard, or lower via referrals). Your registration, mandate and accrued ERE's remain in place.
