I asked for advice through the app and Johan helped and advised me excellently.
My questions were answered super fast via WhatsApp, on a Sunday. Quickly scheduled a new Tesla charger with MID meter, professionally installed by Ruben. Signing up was a piece of cake with the well-designed app. Flawless so far, highly recommended!
Another provider couldn't connect to my EVBox Elvi MID. After some messaging back and forth with Joulo I was connected: my EVBox now talks to an OCPP proxy, so I can control it with Home Assistant while the charging data flows to Joulo automatically for ERE registration.
I just couldn't get my charger to connect, so I called in Joulo support. The agent took all the configuration off my hands and within 15 minutes the system was up and running. Top service.
After some research I chose Joulo, and so far without regret. Great service and very quick responses to a few questions. The app is clear and pleasant to use.
Technically the most mature: strong automation, real-time insight and support for standards like OCPP. Their accessibility and technical openness are well above average and very professional.
The average EV driver charges 3,000 – 5,000 kWh per year at home. What does that earn?

// the process
You link your charger once. We do the rest.
You
You link your charger
Once, via API or OCPP. Your charging sessions then come in on their own and you never have to submit a meter reading again.
Joulo
We register your charging data with the NEa
Every kWh you charge at home is submitted to the Dutch Emissions Authority. Joulo is on the official list of registration providers.
The market
The market buys your ERE credits
Fuel suppliers have to cut their emissions and buy Emission Reduction Units to do so. That is where your money comes from.
You
You get paid every quarter
The money lands in your account each quarter. What you earn depends on the market price at the time we sell.

Where the money comes from
Fuel suppliers are legally required to reduce the CO₂ emissions of transport. They do this by buying EREs: proof of avoided CO₂. Every kWh you charge at home instead of refuelling delivers that saving • which makes it worth money.
Why through Joulo
The NEa sets requirements for registering parties that an individual household cannot meet. Joulo B.V. is on the official NEa list of registered ERE service providers and bundles your charging sessions with those of thousands of other drivers.
Verify it yourself

Our latest sale (July 2026) returned €0.129 net per kWh.
