Case study
We charge our electric delivery vans every day. We didn't expect to earn ERE credits from that too. Joulo arranged it in one day.

Process

From connection to payout.

Four steps for you. The complex part for us: NEa communication, XML formats, MID validation, and quarterly calculations.

Step 01

Sign up & connect

You register your company directly, connect your chargers via API or OCPP and upload your Chamber of Commerce extract and energy contract. We check the MID certification.

Step 02

NEa registration

Joulo handles your registration and registers your chargers in the REV register.

Step 03

Automatic registration

Every charging session is processed, converted into ERE credits and submitted to the NEa each quarter. Including the mandatory annual verification • handled by us.

Step 04

Quarterly payout

After the ERE credits are sold, you receive a clear settlement and direct transfer.

What does your charging infrastructure generate?

Enter your expected annual charging volume and the number of grid connections. The service fee follows the volume per connection, so both matter.

Net, average scenario
€ 7.304
Calculation based on ~33 EREs per 100 kWh (grid connection, national average 50.5% renewable in 2026). Amounts excluding VAT, before verification. Indicative • no fixed price guarantee. Exact revenue depends on energy mix, market price and MID certification.

ERE market price moves roughly between: € 0,29 – € 0,50 per ERE

Own generation can double your revenue.

Charging your fleet simultaneously with your own solar or wind generation? Then that electricity can count as 100% renewable instead of the 50.5% grid average. The NEa sets four conditions: generation at the same delivery location, a MID meter on the generation installation, guarantees of origin (non-grid delivery) from VertiCer transferred to the NEa before registration (your installation must be registered with VertiCer), and no SDE subsidy on the same electricity. We set up the evidence together with you.

Per 100,000 kWh: ~€ 14.967/year (grid power)vs ~€ 29.638/year (own generation)

Example scenarios • net per year after service fee, before verification

Logistics depot with 30 charge points300,000 kWh17%€ 33.694€ 48.731€ 66.721€ 96.498
The fee follows the volume per connection, not the total: five sites of 12,000 kWh each stay in the first band. Ranges follow the live low–high ERE market scenarios; verification is charged separately. The own-generation column applies only if you meet the NEa conditions for the 100% route: same delivery location, MID meter on the generation installation, guarantee of origin (non-grid delivery) from VertiCer with the installation registered there, no SDE subsidy on the same electricity. Indicative • no fixed price guarantee.
Costs

What does it cost, and what do you get back?

No subscription. Our service fee comes out of the ERE revenue and follows your volume per connection. The verification by an independent verifier is charged on separately.

Service fee

15% excluding VAT up to 25,000 kWh per connection per year, dropping to 4% for the largest sites. No loyalty steps, no referral stacking.

Verification

€ 180 excluding VAT per connection per year on the standard route. Above 50,000 kWh per connection, or with own generation, the verifier assesses per company and visits the site in year one; that amount is in your quote.

Contract

Contract per calendar year, cancellable at any time free of charge; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the calendar year. Switching to another booking service provider on 1 January? Cancel by 30 November.

Guarantees of origin

Own solar on site? We also handle the guarantees of origin: registration, metering and sale run with your account, for € 2,500 per year per location.

Payout

Every quarter, per legal entity, on the IBAN of that entity. Every session and every euro is traceable in your dashboard and exportable.

No price guarantee

The ERE market fluctuates. We do not promise a fixed price; we time sales for the best possible revenue.

The band is set per connection, not on your total. Five sites of 12,000 kWh each stay in the first band; one site of 60,000 kWh does not. Agreed a fixed percentage in your contract? That one applies.
Account management

One account for your whole organisation.

Share your Joulo account with colleagues, manage multiple grid connections and pay out per legal entity • no password sharing needed.

Members & roles

Invite colleagues by email as manager or viewer. Only the owner manages IBAN, mandate and members • a viewer follows along read-only.

Multiple grid connections

Several sites or EANs? Add each connection to the same account. You sign one mandate per connection and link chargers per connection.

Entities with their own IBAN

A holding with multiple entities? Add each one with its own Chamber of Commerce number and IBAN • the quarterly payout follows the entity IBAN.

How a holding sets this up

A holding with two operating companies: Transport B.V. charges with six charge points at the depot, Vastgoed B.V. with four at the office. At Joulo that is not two separate administrations, but one account.

Both companies exist as entities on the account, each with its own Chamber of Commerce number and payout IBAN. Per grid connection (EAN) you sign one mandate and link the chargers. The quarterly payout automatically follows the entity IBAN • depot revenue lands with Transport B.V., office revenue with Vastgoed B.V.

The fleet manager follows along as viewer, the finance team manages as manager. Nobody shares a password • and when a company or site is added, you simply add it to the same account.

You'll find this in your dashboard under Account. Also available for HOAs • in the mobile app you switch accounts with one tap.
