Earn ERE credits with your Alfen charger

You can often connect Alfen automatically via your existing 50five or Eneco account. If that is not available, use the fallback route with MyEve and Service Installer to configure OCPP.

    Start with automatic connection

Are you with 50five or Eneco? Then connect through that provider first. This is the preferred route.

How ERE credits work with Alfen

Every kWh you charge at home with renewable energy earns you ERE credits. Your Alfen charger's MID meter measures the exact energy usage and sends it to Joulo via OCPP. Joulo registers this at the NEa and you receive your payout • automatically, no paperwork.

Fallback: what you need for manual setup

    • A Joulo account (free registration)
    • Service Installer access (ACE)
    • MyEve app and temporary charger network access

    1

Single models before March 2023: install a network card

These older Alfen Single models usually have no WiFi. Open the charger with Service Installer access and place a network/SIM card so the charger can get online. This is the most technical step.

    2

After March 2023: enable temporary WiFi via MyEve

Power-cycle the charger. You then get roughly 15 minutes of WiFi that you can join with the MyEve app. In this step, MyEve is mainly used to bring the charger online via WiFi.

Use Service Installer to update OCPP settings

Now that the charger has network access, open Service Installer and set OCPP to Joulo. Use Protocol OCPP 1.6, Security Profile 0, and paste your WebSocket URL from the Joulo connect flow.
