How do I get into my Peblar's web interface?

Through the charger's own WiFi hotspot. The hotspot is active for 15 minutes after power-on (a brief power-cycle re-activates it). Connect to the network named after your Charge Point ID, go to http://172.16.0.1 in your browser and sign in with the Device password from your installation card. If your Peblar is already on your home network, pblr-0046529.local (your own Charge Point ID) works too. Tip: under Netwerk in the web interface you can enable the hotspot permanently.

What if I lost my installation card?

Contact Peblar support • besides your Charge Point ID, the card also holds the Hotspot password and Device password for the web interface. You don't need the OCPP password for Joulo • we capture the charger's key automatically on its first connection.

How long does setup take?

Around 5–10 minutes. Once you've reconfigured your Peblar with Joulo as Backoffice, sessions stream into your dashboard automatically. No further configuration needed.

Do my sessions from before I connected count too?

Yes. Your sessions from 1 January 2026 count, including the ones from before you connected. OCPP forwards new sessions automatically; you submit your history up to the connection once as a CSV export via 'Laaddata aanleveren' in your dashboard, and we add it for retroactive ERE.

Can I keep my existing charging platform (E-Flux, Plugchoice…)?

Yes. Joulo splits your OCPP traffic: one connection from your charger, two destinations. In your Joulo dashboard, set your existing OCPP URL under 'External OCPP backend'. Your charger sends to Joulo, Joulo forwards to your existing back-office. Dashboard, RFID tags and settings keep working as they do now, and Joulo registers the same sessions as ERE.

Which Peblar models are supported?

Peblar Home Plus and Peblar Business • both come with a built-in MID-certified meter, which is required for ERE registration.

Connect Peblar charger to Joulo

Can I connect my Peblar to Joulo for ERE registration? Yes. The Peblar Home Plus and Business have a built-in MID-certified meter and connect via OCPP 1.6J. You enter the Charge Point ID from your installation card (no password needed • Joulo picks up the charger's key automatically), then point your Peblar at Joulo once, via the web interface you reach through the Peblar's WiFi hotspot.

Careful • already connected to another OCPP backoffice?

Is your charger already configured to an existing OCPP backoffice (for example from your installer, charge-card provider or energy supplier)? Then be careful making changes. A charger usually connects to one backoffice at a time, so switching to Joulo disconnects that link and stops the services relying on it (public charging, expense reimbursement, monitoring). Not sure whether you're allowed to or want to change it? Check with your installer or current provider first.

Step-by-step setup

Find your details

The Charge Point ID (e.g. PBLR-0046529) is printed on the side of your Peblar and on the installation card (Hotspot SSID). Keep that card handy: it also holds the Hotspot password and the Device password you'll use in steps 3 and 4. There's no OCPP password to look up • Joulo detects your Peblar automatically.

Register in Joulo

In your Joulo dashboard, go to 'Connect charger', choose Peblar, and fill in the Charge Point ID. That's it • no password needed.

Connect to your Peblar's WiFi hotspot

The web interface runs on the Peblar itself • you reach it through the charger's own WiFi hotspot. That hotspot is active for 15 minutes after power-on; don't see it? Briefly power-cycle the Peblar (breaker in the fuse box off and back on). Connect your phone or laptop to the Peblar's network: scan the WLAN QR code on the installation card, or pick the network named after your Charge Point ID (e.g. PBLR-0046529) and enter the Hotspot password from the card (older cards call it WLAN password).

Log in to the web interface

On the connected device, open your browser and go to http://172.16.0.1, or scan the web interface QR code on the installation card. Sign in with the Device password from the card (older cards: Config page password). Is your Peblar already on your home network (WiFi or cable)? Then you can skip the hotspot: from a device on the same network, go to pblr-0046529.local (your own Charge Point ID).

Update your Peblar firmware

Install the latest firmware via the Peblar app (easiest) or in the web interface under Systeem (System). The Joulo backoffice option only appears on up-to-date Peblars. After an update your Peblar reboots • reconnect to the hotspot if needed.

Reconfigure with Joulo as backend

First switch the web interface to Beheer (management) mode • that's where Herconfigureer lives, usually at the bottom of Systeem (System), sometimes under Installatie (varies per firmware). Click Herconfigureer and confirm with the Device password. Your Peblar then reboots and the hotspot drops • reconnect to the hotspot and continue. If you see 'Er is een fout opgetreden tijdens het communiceren met het oplaadsysteem', close it and carry on. Set the charge point mode to Beheerd (managed): on Onbeheerd no Backoffice option appears at all. Step through the wizard to the Backoffice selection, choose Joulo, and leave the APN field empty. Click Next and save, and your Peblar is linked to Joulo.

What happens next?

Joulo splits your OCPP traffic

Already using your Peblar via E-Flux, Plugchoice or another OCPP platform? Nothing has to change about your everyday charging flow. Joulo positions itself as a pass-through between your charger and your existing back-office. One OCPP connection, two destinations: your existing dashboard keeps receiving sessions, and Joulo registers the same sessions as ERE.
