Which Tesla chargers are supported?

The Tesla Wall Connector (Gen 3) is fully supported. The Tesla Universal Mobile Connector is not supported as it doesn't report energy data via the Fleet API.

Do I need a MID meter?

Yes. To earn ERE credits, the NEa requires energy data from a MID-certified meter. Only the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 MID variant (part no. 1529455-5) has one built in • the standard Gen 3 and the Gen 2 do not. For non-MID Wall Connectors, Joulo arranges an upgrade to the Gen 3 MID, or guides you to request a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator.

I don't see my sessions

Tesla syncs data with a delay. Wait a few hours after connecting. If sessions still don't appear after 24 hours, contact us.

Does Joulo work with the Tesla Wall Connector?

Yes • the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 in the MID variant is fully supported. Joulo connects through Tesla's official Fleet API (OAuth with your Tesla account). No changes to your charger required. Gen 2 and the non-MID Gen 3 are not eligible: ERE registration requires a built-in MID-certified meter.

Step-by-step setup

Log in to Joulo

Go to your Joulo dashboard and click 'Connect charger'. Select Tesla as your charger brand.

Sign in with Tesla

You'll be redirected to Tesla's login page. Sign in with the same Tesla account that manages your Wall Connector.

Authorize Joulo

Grant Joulo permission to read your charging history and energy data. We only request read access • we never control your charger.

Confirm your MID meter

Joulo automatically detects whether you have a Gen 3 MID variant (part no. 1529455-5) via the Fleet API. If you have a non-MID Tesla Wall Connector, Joulo follows up with an upgrade quote or guidance for a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP). MID-certified energy data is required for ERE registration at the NEa.

Your charging sessions will now sync automatically. It may take a few hours for historical data to appear in your dashboard.

What happens next?

After connecting, Joulo syncs your sessions every few hours. Each session is automatically registered as an ERE at the NEa. You'll see your earnings grow in your dashboard.
