Does the Tesla Wall Connector have a MID meter for ERE registration?
Only the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 MID (separate model, part number 1529455-5 or 1529455-S2) has a built-in MID-certified meter and is eligible for ERE registration via Joulo. The standard Gen 3 and Gen 2 are not • Joulo arranges an upgrade to the Gen 3 MID, or you request a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator for those variants.

How do I know if my Tesla Wall Connector is the MID variant?
The MID variant is identified by part-number prefix 1529455-5 or 1529455-S2 in the serial number (DIN). Joulo detects this automatically when you connect your Tesla account.
How do I connect my Tesla charger with Joulo?
After creating your account, you connect your Tesla account once via the official Fleet API (OAuth). After that, Joulo automatically reads all your charging sessions. Completely hands-off.
What if I have the Gen 3 without MID meter?
You can upgrade directly via joulo.nl/bestellen?optie=diy&merk=tesla to the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 MID, with delivery and installation.
What can I earn with my Tesla Wall Connector?
Our customer average is 4,100 kWh charged at home per year. That earns you about €530 per year in ERE's, roughly €130 per quarter. This is the mid scenario of €0.13 net per kWh, after the 20% service fee. Referrals lower your fee to 10%.
Does this also work with the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 2?
The Gen 2 is not automatically read and does not have a MID meter. We upgrade you to the Gen 3 MID via joulo.nl/bestellen?optie=diy&merk=tesla.
Is the Tesla MID variant available?
Yes. The Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 MID is available via Joulo. We handle delivery and installation so your charger is ready for ERE credits right away.
What does it cost?
A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.
Do I need a green energy contract?
No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.
Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?
Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.
When does the money reach my account?
Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
