Does the Alfen Eve have a MID meter for ERE registration?

Yes, the Alfen Eve Single and Eve Pro have a built-in MID-certified energy meter as standard. Both models are directly eligible for ERE registration via Joulo, connected via OCPP 1.6J • no extra hardware needed.

Frequently asked questions about Alfen ERE registration

Does the Alfen Eve have a MID meter?

Yes. The Alfen Eve Double (alle), Eve Double Plus and 14 other models have a factory-fitted MID-certified meter and counts for ERE's right away.

How do I connect my Alfen with Joulo?

Set the OCPP URL via MyEve (temporary WiFi) or the Service Installer tool to wss://ocpp.joulo.nl. Joulo recognises your charger on the first BootNotification.

When will I see my historic sessions?

On first connection, Alfen pushes your historic sessions within 24-48 hours. After that, your charger streams real-time via OCPP.

What can I earn with my Alfen Eve?

Our customer average is 4,100 kWh charged at home per year. Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average, after service fees. That comes to about €517 per year in ERE's, €129 per quarter. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents per kWh.

What does it cost?

A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.

Do I need a green energy contract?

No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.

Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?

Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.

When does the money reach my account?

Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
