Which Zaptec models have a MID meter for ERE registration?

The Zaptec Go 2 and Zaptec Pro have a built-in MID-certified energy meter and are directly eligible for ERE registration via Joulo's Zaptec Cloud connection. The original Zaptec Go (first generation) does not have a built-in MID meter • for that model Joulo arranges an upgrade to the Go 2, or the owner requests a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with the grid operator. The Zaptec Sense is a separate energy meter (not a charger) and falls outside the scheme.

Which Zaptec models are eligible for ERE registration?

How do I know which Zaptec I have?

The model is on the type plate at the bottom of the charger and in the Zaptec app under your installation. The original Go (Type 2 tethered cable, no display) does not have MID. The Go 2 (Type 2 socket, with display, 4G LTE) and the Pro (Type 2 socket, commercial) do. Joulo verifies your exact model automatically via the Zaptec Cloud once you connect your account.

How do I connect my Zaptec charger with Joulo?

After creating your Joulo account, you connect your Zaptec account once via OAuth. From that moment Joulo automatically reads all your MID-measured charging sessions. No manual uploads, no CSV exports.

What can I earn with my Zaptec?

Our customer average is 4,100 kWh charged at home per year. Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average, after service fees. That comes to about €517 per year in ERE's, €129 per quarter. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents per kWh.

Do sessions from before I signed up count?

Yes, provided they are MID-measured and took place after 1 January 2026 (the official start date of the scheme). Joulo retrieves these sessions automatically via the Zaptec Cloud.

What does it cost?

A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.

Do I need a green energy contract?

No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.

When does the money reach my account?

Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
