Last Friday the Peblar update went live. In one day, 78 Peblar chargers connected to Joulo as back office. No manual configuration, no typing over URLs • one choice in the Peblar firmware and the sessions stream in.

There are now 386 Peblars on Joulo, of which almost 200 are currently streaming their meter readings live.

    As of 30 May 2026.

    What went live on Friday

Peblar has added Joulo as a ready-made back office in the firmware. You set your Peblar to Managed mode once, choose Joulo as the back office, and after that your charger talks directly to wss://ocpp.joulo.nl over OCPP 1.6J.

That difference sounds small, but it removes the biggest hurdle. No installer who has to enter an OCPP URL, no password that goes wrong. You pick Joulo from a list and you're done. How to set it up is in the connection announcement and at docs.joulo.nl/peblar.

The numbers from the first few days:

    • 386 Peblar chargers connected to Joulo as back office
    • 78 of them on the day the update went live
    • almost 200 now actively streaming their sessions
    • 382 households that no longer have to do anything for it
    • 740 charging sessions processed, good for 5,600 kWh
    • over 99,000 individual meter readings received over OCPP

Every Peblar Home Plus and Business has a MID meter as standard. That's exactly what the ERE scheme requires, so every session that comes in counts towards the quarterly payout. New to EREs? This short explainer walks through it in a few minutes.

    The machine behind it

The Peblar connections come into the same pipeline we use for every brand. At the end of May, Joulo has 7,880 chargers as back office. This is the work flowing through it:

    • 312,000 charging sessions processed
    • 6.9 million kWh normalised and validated
    • 7.7 million individual meter readings fetched and stored

That's what 'back office' means at Joulo. Your charger talks, we listen, normalise, check for MID, and register with the NEa every quarter. Joulo B.V. is on the official NEa list of registration service providers.

For you it's quiet. You connect once and forget we exist • until there's money in your account every three months.
