Do I need a password or certificate to connect my Ratio?

Usually not • Ratio chargers connect with their own charge point ID without an OCPP username or password, and you don't need to upload a TLS certificate. If the Joulo connection wizard does show a security secret, enter it in Ratio's backend password field.

Can I connect my Ratio charger to Joulo for ERE? Yes. Ratio chargers with a built-in MID meter connect over OCPP 1.6J. In Ratio Connect you set the OCPP backend to wss://ocpp.joulo.nl • your Ratio reports itself with its own charge point ID (e.g. RATIO_P…) and appears automatically in your Joulo dashboard. Usually without a password or certificate.

Ratio koppelen via OCPP 1.6J

Je stelt de OCPP-backend in via Ratio Connect (of de Ratio EV Charging-app). Houd je Joulo-koppelingswizard (dashboard → Laadstation koppelen → OCPP) bij de hand • daar staat de backend-URL die je in Ratio invult.

Open de koppelingswizard in Joulo
Ga in je Joulo-dashboard naar Laadstation koppelen en kies de OCPP-koppeling. Joulo toont de backend-URL wss://ocpp.joulo.nl.

Open de OCPP-instellingen van je Ratio
Log in bij Ratio Connect (of de Ratio EV Charging-app) met het account dat eigenaar is van je laadstation en open de backend-/OCPP-instellingen. Weet je niet waar dit staat? Ratio stelt de backend ook voor je in via support (ratio.nl/contact).

Zet de OCPP-backend op Joulo
Vul als OCPP-server / backend-URL in:
- •URL backend: wss://ocpp.joulo.nl
- •Protocol: OCPP 1.6J (JSON over WebSocket)
- •Niets achter de URL plakken • je Ratio vult zelf zijn laadpunt-ID aan (bijv. RATIO_P00000000032366)

Wachtwoord? Meestal niet nodig
Ratio-laadstations verbinden doorgaans met hun eigen laadpunt-ID, zonder OCPP-gebruikersnaam of wachtwoord. Laat die velden leeg. Toont de Joulo-wizard tóch een security-secret, vul dat dan in het backend-wachtwoordveld van Ratio in. Een eigen TLS-certificaat hoef je niet te uploaden.

Opslaan en controleren
Sla de instelling op. Je Ratio stuurt binnen enkele minuten een BootNotification naar wss://ocpp.joulo.nl en verschijnt automatisch in je Joulo-dashboard. Daarna komen de laadsessies binnen, met terugwerkende kracht vanaf 1 januari 2026.
