Charge your car for free at someone you know

A neighbour, a friend, your parents: anyone with their own charger can let you charge. You pay nothing and you need no charge card. No money changes hands either.

Why it costs nothing

Every kWh charged at home earns the owner of the connection an ERE credit: about €0.16 gross per kWh, based on our realised sale prices. On a dynamic contract, power at a good moment costs less than that. The ERE then covers the power you charge, so the owner is not out of pocket. Joulo charges no service fees on shared kWh.

Someone with a charger connected to Joulo invites you. Without an invitation you cannot charge there.

Signing up costs nothing and takes a minute. You need no subscription and no charger of your own.

Your car

On the driveway you report with one tap that you are charging, and you plug in. Then you claim your session. That is all.

You need no charge card

No card, no subscription, no operator app. You report in the Joulo app that you are charging and you plug in.

Public charging costs €0.46 per kWh on average. An average session is about 12 kWh, so around €5.50 on the road. At someone you know you pay nothing.
