What you provide for ERE credits, and what you don't

The NEa asks for five things for ERE credits on home charging. A photo of your charger or an installation report is not one of them. At Joulo you usually upload nothing.

For ERE credits on home charging, the NEa sets five requirements. None of them asks for a photo of your charger, an installation report or a typed-in total. A photo and a typed-in number don't even count as proof.

At Joulo you connect your charger, sign your mandate and enter your IBAN. We then collect the proof ourselves, from the source. Below is how, per requirement.

1. A mandate

The mandate names you, your address, the EAN code of your connection and your signature. It also lets the NEa and the verifier check your details and your charging location. At Joulo you sign it digitally when you register.

2. A MID meter in your charger

The certificate belongs to the meter type, not to your unit. The registration service provider gets it from the manufacturer. We read the model of your charger. Only when the data doesn't tell us do we ask for a photo of the type plate.

3. Charging sessions from the backend

The sessions must come from your charger's software. A photo of your meter reading or a total you type in is not a measurement. The NEa rejects a submission that relies on it. We read your sessions automatically, through your brand's cloud connection or through OCPP.

4. Proof that your charger is at your address

The NEa names a printout from your charger's app with the address on it. An installation invoice with the address or a charging session with the address also works. A photo of your charger alone is not enough: it doesn't show the address. For many brands we read the install address from the manufacturer's app. Does your brand not share the address? Keep your installation invoice.

5. What you buy on your connection

The NEa names the energy bill or the meter data of your connection. Your mandate lets us request the meter data of your connection. So you don't upload an energy bill.

What you don't have to provide

A photo of your charger, an installation report, your energy contract, your annual bill, and a quarterly export with a total you typed in yourself. None of these is an NEa requirement for home charging. A business registration does ask for more, such as a Chamber of Commerce extract.
