ERE stands for Emission Reduction Unit. Part of the electricity from the grid is green: just over half in 2026. For that part you drive without CO₂, and an ERE is the proof of that. Fuel suppliers must emit less CO₂ every year with what they sell, and buy that proof from you. Since 1 January 2026 every kWh you charge at home with a MID meter yields such proof. The Senate adopted the bill on 31 March 2026 • the ERE system is now enshrined in law. Your charging sessions count back to 1 January 2026, even if you sign up later in the year. ERE's are not free money: every booking must still hold up years later. That is why we check your MID meter, your address and your mandate.

Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average. That is the volume-weighted price of all our ERE sales, minus the service fee they actually pay. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents. Charging 4,100 kWh per year at home works out to roughly €517. Every sale is in our open sales log • Joulo does not promise a fixed price.

20% service fee incl. VAT • no subscription, no fixed costs. Every calendar year you stay a customer lowers your fee by 1 percentage point, down to 17% after three years. With referrals it can drop further, down to 10%.

Yes, per calendar year • cancellable yearly. Cancelling is free and takes effect on 1 January, because the NEa allows one booking service provider per connection per calendar year. You can stop sooner at any time: we then stop booking within a month. You sign the authorisation once for five calendar years and it lapses as soon as your contract ends. Read the terms
