Yes. The ERE follows the connection, not who charges. Every shared session runs through your MID meter, so the revenue stays yours.

Can I rent out my charger instead?

You can, but then you are selling power and tariffs, payments and paperwork follow. Free sharing is simpler: the ERE covers your power cost and no money needs to change hands.

A home charger sits idle most of the day. More and more owners want to share it: with the neighbours, with family, with a visiting friend. That is allowed, and it is simpler than you think.

Yes. The charger is on your property and you decide who may use it. There is nothing to apply for. The Dutch government agency RVO points to charger sharing too: it creates more charging spots without extra strain on the grid.

One choice decides how much you need to arrange. If you sell power to whoever charges, tariffs, payments and paperwork follow. If you share for free, all of that disappears.

Every kWh charged at home through a MID meter earns the owner of the connection an ERE credit: about €0.16 per kWh, based on our realised sale prices. That revenue stays yours, even when your neighbour plugs in • the ERE follows the connection, not the car.
