Which Volt Time models have a MID meter for ERE registration?
MID status varies by Volt Time model and variant. The Source 2 Business, Source 2s Business, One Business and Two Pro have a built-in MID-certified meter and are directly eligible for ERE registration. The Volt Time One, Source 2 Lite and Source 2s Lite do not. On a Source 2s, the model number on the type plate names the variant: FP-CH-SRC2s-B is Business, FP-CH-SRC2s-L is Lite. Without a MID meter, Joulo quotes a new charger with a built-in MID meter, or you request a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator. Your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place. Joulo verifies your exact model automatically via the Plugchoice connection.

Does my Volt Time have a MID meter?
Yes, the Volt Time One Business, Source and 4 other models have a factory-fitted MID meter and count right away. Other Volt Time variants lack that meter.
How do I connect my Volt Time with Joulo?
You connect your Volt Time charger once via Plugchoice OAuth. After that, Joulo reads your charging sessions automatically via the Plugchoice API.
Why does the connection go via Plugchoice?
Plugchoice acquired Volt Time and hosts the management platform. Your charger remains Volt Time, only the cloud connection runs via Plugchoice.
What can I earn with my Volt Time?
Our customer average is 4,200 kWh charged at home per year. Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average, after service fees. That comes to about €529 per year in ERE's, €129 per quarter. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents per kWh.
What does it cost?
A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.
Do I need a green energy contract?
No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.
Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?
Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.
When does the money reach my account?
Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
