Which Volt Time models have a MID meter for ERE registration?
MID status varies significantly by Volt Time model. The Source 2 Business, Source 2 Lite, Source 2s Business, One Business, One Pro and Two Pro have a built-in MID-certified meter and are directly eligible for ERE registration. The bare Volt Time One, Source 2s and Source 2s Lite do not • for those Joulo arranges an upgrade to a MID variant, or you request a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator. Joulo verifies your exact model automatically via the Plugchoice connection.

How do I connect my Volt Time with Joulo?
You connect your Volt Time charger once via Plugchoice OAuth. After that, Joulo reads your charging sessions automatically via the Plugchoice API.
Why does the connection go via Plugchoice?
Plugchoice acquired Volt Time and hosts the management platform. Your charger remains Volt Time, only the cloud connection runs via Plugchoice.
What can I earn with my Volt Time?
Our customer average is 4,100 kWh charged at home per year. That earns you about €530 per year in ERE's, roughly €130 per quarter. This is the mid scenario of €0.13 net per kWh, after the 20% service fee. Referrals lower your fee to 10%.
What does it cost?
A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.
Do I need a green energy contract?
No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.
Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?
Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.
When does the money reach my account?
Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
