Does my Ecotap have a MID meter for ERE registration?
Ecotap chargers have a built-in MID-certified meter and are directly eligible for ERE registration via Joulo. The Homebox, the Single and Duo wallchargers and the Duo Wide are all MID-equipped. You connect with your Ecotap account (ecotap.evc-net.com), after which Joulo retrieves your charging sessions automatically and verifies your MID status via the catalogue.

Frequently asked questions about Ecotap ERE registration
Does my Ecotap have a MID meter?
Yes. The Ecotap Duo Nuvia, Duo Wallcharger and 6 other models have a factory-fitted MID-certified meter and counts for ERE's right away.
How do I connect my Ecotap with Joulo?
You log in once with your Ecotap account (ecotap.evc-net.com). After that, Joulo reads your charging sessions automatically • including your history since 1 January 2026.
I currently use manual upload, do I need to do anything?
The account connection is more accurate and fully automatic. Connect your Ecotap account and Joulo imports your sessions automatically.
What can I earn with my Ecotap?
Our customer average is 4,200 kWh charged at home per year. Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average, after service fees. That comes to about €529 per year in ERE's, €129 per quarter. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents per kWh.
What does it cost?
A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.
Do I need a green energy contract?
No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.
Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?
Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.
When does the money reach my account?
Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
