Does the Victron EV Charging Station have a MID meter for ERE registration?

Joulo is connected to Victron VRM and reads your charging sessions automatically. The current Victron EV Charging Station NS, however, has no built-in MID-certified meter. Its sessions therefore do not count for ERE registration, not even later. Joulo is in contact with Victron about a charger with a built-in MID meter. If you want ERE's now, choose a new MID charger, a MID meter in the housing or a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP). Your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place.

    Create a free account and connect your Victron with a personal VRM token from your VRM portal.

    Complete your registration

    Joulo reads your charging sessions via VRM and checks your MID status. The EV Charging Station NS has no built-in MID meter, so these sessions do not count. Choose a new MID charger, a MID meter in the housing or a Secondary Allocation Point (SAP) with your grid operator.

  3. 03

    Get paid every quarter

    Joulo books your charging sessions with the NEa and pays out every quarter. Sessions from before the MID meter do not count: your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place.

Does my Victron have a MID meter?

No, Victron has no models with a factory-fitted MID meter. There are two routes: a charger with a built-in MID meter, or a secondary allocation point with your grid operator. Your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place.

Can Joulo still read my Victron?

Yes. Joulo is connected to Victron VRM and reads your charging sessions automatically via a personal VRM token. Those sessions do not count towards ERE's. That needs a MID meter, and your sessions count from the moment the MID meter is in place.

How do I connect my Victron with Joulo?

You create a personal API token in your VRM portal and paste it into Joulo. After that, Joulo reads your charging sessions automatically via the VRM API.

What can I earn with my Victron?

Once you have a MID metering point, our customer average of 4,200 kWh charged at home per year applies. Our customers receive 12.6 cents net per kWh on average, after service fees. That comes to about €529 per year in ERE's, €129 per quarter. At the standard 20% fee it is 12 cents per kWh.

What does it cost?

A 20% service fee on the revenue. No subscription and no connection fee. The contract is cancellable yearly and we pay out every quarter.

Do I need a green energy contract?

No, and your supplier does not matter. ERE units cover the renewable share of the Dutch grid mix. For 2026 that share is 50.5%.

Do charging sessions from before I signed up count?

Yes, as long as the MID meter measured them. Sessions from 1 January 2026 count, and 2026 sessions can be registered up to and including 25 February 2027. Sessions from before the MID meter never count.

When does the money reach my account?

Every quarter, on the account from your registration. Your dashboard shows per charging session where the amount comes from.
